APWDC Boostered Events
A Booster event is one where the club provides special prizes just for Portuguese Water Dogs to the winners of specific classes on specific days of an event. These events are not necessarily hosted by the APWDC. The program is meant to encourage participation (entries) from APWDC club members and other Portuguese Water Dog owners. A Booster can also serve as a social gathering opportunity.
Signup and notifications for CKC events will be handled through dogshow.ca and more information for each event should also be found at Canuckdogs.ca
The Booster committee is continuing to work on the 2026 Booster program to include Saskatchewan events as well as additional sports. Stay tuned throughout the year!

Battle River Canine Association – Sunday, March 29th, 2026 Camrose, AB
RALLY OBEDIENCE – The ALBERTA PORTUGUESE WATER DOG CLUB is pleased to offer Prizes and/or Rosette on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, in the Rally obedience trial under Judge Nicole Wiebe, for the Highest Qualifying Score over all earned by a PWD as well as HQS in each Novice A&B, Intermediate, Advanced A&B, Excellent A&B and Masters classes. All qualifying scores by a PWD in Novice A & B Rally Obedience will also receive a prize.
Red Deer & District Kennel Club – Saturday, April 4th, 2026 Red Deer, Alberta
CONFORMATION – The ALBERTA PORTUGUESE WATER DOG CLUB is pleased to consider the judging of Mr. Dana Cline on Saturday, April 4th, 2026 as a BOOSTER for our breed. Prizes and rosettes will be awarded to the winners of Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Best of Winners, Winners & Reserve Winners Male, Winners & Reserve Winners Female, Select Male, Select Female, Best Puppy, Best Baby Puppy and Best Veteran.
OBEDIENCE – The ALBERTA PORTUGUESE WATER DOG CLUB is pleased to offer Prizes and/or Rosette on Saturday, April 4th, 2026 Trial #2 in the obedience trial under Judge David Denis, for the Highest Qualifying overall Score earned by a PWD as well as HQS in each Novice A&B, Open A&B and Utility A&B classes.

All qualifying scores by a PWD in Novice A & B Rally Obedience will also receive a prize.
Rocky Mountain Working Herding Club of Alberta – October 2026 Calgary, Alberta
AGILITY – The ALBERTA PORTUGUESE WATER DOG CLUB is pleased to offer a prize to the Portuguese Water Dog who earns the Highest Qualifying score in each of the Novice, Intermediate and Excellent JWW classes during one trial (to be announced) and each of the Novice, Intermediate and Excellent Standard Classes (Day TBD closer to date). In cases of multiple dogs earning the same qualifying score in each class, fastest time will determine the winner. Additionally, there will be a prize for every Portuguese Water Dog that earns a qualifying score in Jumps & Tunnels (Day TBD closer to date).
